Netflix DVD Rental: Entertainment Convenience

By

I have just over one hundred movies on my Netflix DVD Rental queue. Several of my friends have about the same amount of DVDs on their queues. However, my boyfriend Chad takes the cake. He single handedly discovered just how many movies Netflix lets you have on your queue at any one time.

Any guesses? Chad went to enter his five hundredth movie the Netflix site notified him that he would have to remove another movie from his queue in order to add the five hundredth movie. Just how does someone add five hundred movies to their Netflix DVD rental queue?

Finding and adding movies to your Netflix queue is easy and fun. There are a few different ways to go about searching for additional titles to add to your queue. First of all, add every movie that you hear friends and family talk about, if they sound good to you of course.

If you take the time to rate movies on Netflix, the system keeps track of your various ratings and compiles a recommendation section that is divided into genres. This can be an excellent way to find

1. Sony BDP-S350 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player

2. Sony DVP-FX820 8-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black

]]>

3. Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray Player

4. Sony DVP-NS700H/B 1080p Upscaling DVD Player, Black

]]>

5. Coby DVD-224 Compact DVD Player

]]>

6. Sony BDP-S300 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player

more movies that you would like to see.

Also, if you click on one of the recommended movie titles there will be a section called "Why is this recommended" where there will be a list of movies that you have rated, whose ratings are connected to the recommended movie title. This feature helps explain how movie recommendations are connected to movies you've rated.

Another way to find movies to add to your Netflix queue is to take notice of the "enjoyed by members who enjoyed" section when you look at the details of a particular title. If you click on The Matrix, for example, you'll see links to the other Matrix movies as well as "Contract Killer" and "Roughnecks: The Star Ship Trooper Chronicles: The Pluto Campaign".

If you're relatively quick about sending back the movies then Netflix is an awesome deal. If you want to leisurely watch a couple movies every weekend, then it's still a pretty good deal. But if you find that you're never finishing movies within a week or so, chances are you'd save more money renting locally.

Of course one of the biggest advantages of renting DVDs on Netflix is the variety. You can find all kinds of titles and format versions that you just wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. I've been able to find obscure horror and documentary titles, and even some Skinny Puppy titles. You just have to check it out for yourself. If you don't like it then just discontinue your memebership.
